After The Rain

We've been getting plenty of rain here in LA as of late, so I took advantage of the sunny day and set out for Oak Grove. On the way to the 1st hole I ran into Adrian, Alex and Carissa. They had seen the Disc Golf course while biking and Dad got the kids a starter set of discs for Christmas and this was their first outing. New players are always welcome and it was a pleasure guiding them through the course.

Adrian, Carissa and Alex
Alex was getting some real good distance with his Leopard and Carissa easily had The Shot Of The Day when she floated in a 25' putt from behind a bush. Sweet shot!

Oak Grove not only has the distinction of being the world's first permanent Disc Golf course, it also known as Hahamonga Watershed Park. The area is above the Devil's Gate dam and is the flood basin which captures the flows of the mountain watershed of the Arroyo Seco. And as you see in the photo, the basin is definitely full.
